The Effects of Limping on Online Poker

Filed under: Funy Center, Gambling Capers, Hall Of Games — admin @ 2:17 pm

When playing online poker, it becomes quickly apparent, especially at lower limit tables, that many players love to limp in.

I’m not just talking about limping in with the small blind, I’m talking about early position limping in, people who limp with monster hands like pocket kings and pocket queens.

I would assume that most of these players are subscribe to the low risk-low reward philosophy. These people don’t want to raise too much, and at the same time are content with winning poker pots that are not very big.

It can be very frustrating to play against limpers, but also very profitable. Most hands you can continue to collect their initial bets, and can take down the pot with strong bet or two. And in the event they flops some monster hand, you don’t even lose that much money out of it, because you didn’t pay that much to get in the pot and 95% of the time will clumsily overbet the pot when they do hit a hand.

I often hear some players complain about people who constantly limp in, or other instances of bad play, and I don’t know why. You should always welcome bad play at your table, it means more cash for you.

RSS is a Life Raft, Saving Us from a Sea of Useless Information

Filed under: Blogs — admin @ 9:48 pm

One of the main problems with the Internet these days is the fact that there is so much information out there; it can be quite hard to find the particular knowledge that you’re looking for. It can often feel like you’re surfing waves of thick chocolate fudge sauce and your honeycomb board has a crack that’s getting wider by the second. Over stimulus is the issue here; you wanted to read opinions from music enthusiasts about music, and every second blog article had to do with new punk hairdo trends and which band has the coolest tattoos. How can we find only the content we’re looking for without getting bogged down in miscellaneous information that erodes both time and patience?

The answer is in context. There’s now a way to sift through the cacophony of babble and wisdom to find exactly what you’re looking for. Instead of having to join clubs and organizations and receive their newsletters via email at their convenience you can now have control over what you receive. Having to search through millions of blogs to find the few you like has now become an obsolete task. The new system is called an RSS Reader: ‘Rich site summary’ or ‘really simple syndication’ are the common definitions of this software. The process begins by signing up to receive automatic updates from blogs and other Web sites that distribute summaries of their latest postings to your reader. You then find which ones you like and delete the rest. You can keep adding new sites until you have literally hundreds of informative connections in your areas of specific interest.

Another great aspect of the RSS Reader program is the fact that you can put in key words of interest and the computer will surf the Web for you and add new blogs and web sites to your list, rating them according to the terms you have selected. You then scan over these and add the ones you feel are relevant, deleting the detritus. Eventually you will have an email-style formatted file where you can search through all your favourite writers, news, and topics’ latest information. Then you also have functions such as ‘comment’ so you can automatically share your input with your fellow humans. Or, you can reply to the ‘messages’ and actually communicate with the producers of the ideas.

This will really help to decentralise the information sharing processes of the current top-down mass communication systems like the media. We can hear multiple opinions on an issue and give our own views, instead of being told one story that is heavily affected by the company’s personal perspective of the situation.

So, you can see this has the potential for something quite big. Less time wasted, finding all the knowledge you’re looking for, and sharing your opinion and meeting others similar to yourself has never been so easy. The RSS Reader is a knife cutting away all the useless packaging, revealing the true content of the gift of the Internet.

Deciding on the Greatest Fast Broadband Deal

Filed under: The WWW — admin @ 2:32 pm

When clients are viewing the broadband landscape you will often feel lost. The market is saturated with high speed internet access providers offering multiple internet packages with different internet speeds and download allocations.

Potential customers might desire to find out about each high speed broadband firm directly to ascertain what internet packages the company supply, upload and download speeds the organisation supply and the supplier’s conditions and terms. If you desire to have this broadband info in one place you may want to view a comparison site. Click here to see all the Orange broadband deals in your area.

If potential customers already have a fast internet company and wish to try a new corporation then not a thing should prohibit you from changing, especially if a benefit is to be made. High speed broadband comparison websites might often be able to guide potential customers through the procedure and what steps may be taken.

When potential customers are seeking for the most appropriate offer money may not be the primary factor. Many internet companies will market an incredibly low entry package to entice possible customers over to them. When high speed packages are uncommonly low in price please make sure you ascertain what internet speed the broadband package will provide, what download allocation you yourself will be provided with and also the terms and conditions of the contract. The download limits is fundamental as a myriad of companies will probably charge browsers per Gigabyte that clients go over, so if your broadband package has an 8 Gigabyte download allocation and potential customers download ten Hollywood movies that month, you are more than likely to have downloaded 10GB (i.e. one GB per movie) - that is 2GB’s in excess of your download limit, and that is two GB worth of downloads the corporation might often bill over and above your monthly package cost.

When researching the most appropriate deal please additionally check whether or not the company will charge a registration fee and if there are any costs associated with being offered a wireless router. The aforementioned extra charges might often all mount up and clients might well be left with little savings when compared to other packages.

Thankfully, internet provider comparison sites may show any further costs and internet users can make a clever and impartial decision.

How You Can Benefit From VoIP

Filed under: Living With Telecommunication — admin @ 8:05 am

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol and is quickly taking the internet over by storm.

The most obvious benefit of VoIP is the big savings it provides compared to what people pay for their phone service from their telephone company.

Let us have a closer look. Say you pay $30 a month for your basic telephone line, that will be $360 a year. That does not include any extras like Caller ID, Call Forwarding or Voice Mail. Those alone can easily bring the annual basic phone bill to over $500 plus taxes.

All that without considering any long distance costs. And you know how much that can add up to.

Now, many VoIP providers give you a year of full featured internet telephony for under $200. And that includes just about any extra calling features, like Caller ID, that you can think of. Then, you also get with it a long distance to and from traditional phones - for a fraction of the cost of what you can get from your local telephone company or even from the best long distance discount service! Plus - you can also get some extra perks like local phone numbers in various parts of the words.

As if that weren’t enough the voice quality of VoIP is often much superior to what you get from a regular phone. The main reason for that is that the regular phone everyone is so used to carries the voice over a very narrow band of sound frequencies - from zero to little over 3,000Hz (cycles per second). Meantime VoIP, in it’s original digital range, gives you much wider voice bandwidth - comparable to the hearing range of an average human being which is 20Hz to 20,000Hz. When I first time used my VoIP phone and heard the voice quality of it for myself I could hardly believe my ears - it was that good!

If you are ready to join the VoIP wave there is no better time then now - the surf is up!

Power Inversion Tables, Great For Bad Backs

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:33 am

Inversion tables are used by thousands of people to help them relieve their back pain. There are many sizes as well as models which are available. Depending upon your comfort factor, you can easily purchase an inversion table. These inversion tables can be purchased from many websites on the Internet or you can also purchase from a store. Please look for all the features before you decide that this is the best inversion table for you.

As a beginner you should invert the table to 20 - 30 degrees only. This should be done for at least 2-3 weeks before you can start inverting the table to 60 degrees or more. This is important such that while inverting there is no back pain. You should also get comfortable with operating the table and shouldn’t be under any tension while being on an inversion table. When you are really fit, only then can you start inverting 90 degrees. This is called the expert level.

Some of the advantages of an inversion table are that it reduces back pain as well as helps to relieve the tension from the back. The circulation in the body improves and it increases the flexibility of the muscles as well as the joints. Note the warranty period of the inversion table when buying it. Many companies such as Teeter Hang Ups give up to 5 years warranty. It should also be remembered that they provide an after sales service and have a qualified team to do so.

Along with inversion table, you may also receive a DVD on how to use the inversion table properly. If done under improper guidance or supervision, you are likely to cause yourself injury. Also look for the additional features that may be provided and take a demonstration before you actually purchase an inversion table.

Regular use can be all you need.

If you enjoyed this see this list of power inversion tables articles and find our most recently added power inversion tables article.

Facts about Martial Arts for Kids - Part 3

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:53 pm

“Martial Arts or Karate may not be a good fit for my daughter.”

We are living in the 21st century, and I still hear this one. This kind of thinking is what has been holding women back for centuries. This statement is not only made by fathers, but by mothers, too. If your daughter wants to try martial arts, let her have a chance. Martial arts classes for girls, or women, are very rewarding.

Over the years, I have coached successful female martial arts competitors who were every bit as good as their male counterparts. In the past, our kids’ karate demonstration team had female captains. At one point, we had more girls on the demonstration team than boys.

Lately, we have hit the opposite cycle, with more boys than girls, as the kids from our kids’ Karate demonstration team perform around the Providence, Rhode Island area. However, girls learn faster, understand precision, can easily grasp complicated techniques, and are usually better kickers.

Some grappling arts, such as Jujitsu, are not as popular with girls, but I have coached good female grapplers, as well. There is no reason to stop your daughter from learning martial arts, if she shows an interest. All of the life skill benefits such as, goal setting, self esteem, self discipline, success, and self defense, make martial arts training as important for girls as it is for boys.

“How can I justify the cost of Karate?”

When you consider that many Karate schools charge less than a babysitter, martial arts training for children is a “bargain.” Consider this formula based upon a fairly high priced Karate studio. Most martial arts studios, in the United States, average around $70 per month to train a child. Granted, some are more and mome are less, but let’s look at your price per hour, if you paid $100 per month.

That comes to just $25 per week, and many Karate studios have a three class limit per week for children. That comes to $8.33 per session for your child to learn life skills, self defense, and play with good kids in a safe environment. Martial arts, for children, are a formula for success, and the cost is really, “peanuts.”

Most well behaved children are allowed to take more Karate classes. The children who “run the staff ragged” will be reminded of the weekly limit. So, the truth is the real cost may be less than peanuts, since there are plenty of martial arts schools, including our center in North Providence, Rhode Island, that charge far less than $100 per month.

Using the formula mentioned above, the cost of Karate per class for a martial arts school, charging the national average of $70 per month, comes to $5.83 per session. Did I say martial arts training is a bargain? Maybe I should have said martial arts training is a steal.

The alternative to plug kids into the television, and put a joystick in their hands, is a big mistake. It’s not any cheaper, when you consider the cost of games and the ever changing video game formats.

On top of that, here’s what video games do for kids: Create anxiety, destroy social skills, teach them a lot about violence, and waste most of their time. All you need to do is throw a Big Mac in their lap every night, and within a year, you should have a child who is a nervous wreck, with poor communication skills, and an obesity problem.

Over the long-term, the wrong after school activities result in very expensive health and psychological care. Therefore, look at martial arts as preventative medicine, and as a bonus, your child is staying out of trouble.

Lastly, if cost is really an issue and you still can’t justify paying less than you would pay for a babysitter at $5.83 per session, you can still shop around and talk until you find the right karate studio.

A martial arts studio, that is “packed to the rafters” with kids, may not be as negotiable as a Karate studio that is an upstart, or a martial arts center that has plenty of room in their kids Karate classes.

Cypriot Delights

Filed under: Adventure Stuff, Hall Of Travel — admin @ 3:56 am

Cyprus is an island with strong greek traditions, but its great all year round sun is what attracts most of us, which has made it a very popular destination with tourists, with over 2.4 million visiting the island each year. The island receives over 330 days of sunshine a year, which has given it the name The Island of the Sun. With plenty of travel agents able to arrange Cyprus holidays and low cost airlines such as Easyjet offering routes to Paphos and Larnaca, it has never been easier to get there.

While attracting visitors from around the world, most of them tend to be Europeans. In recent years Russians and Poles have become poolside regulars alongside the French, Germans and, of course, us Brits.. The British Armed Forces have long has a presence in Cyprus. The UK retains a military base in order to have a gateway for forces to the Middle East. As such the Brits are now almost as local and the locals, and this has in turned resulted in areas that are less traditional and more contemporary in culture. From English being spoken everywhere you go, to driving on the left side of the road. No doubt the similarity to the UK makes us Brits feel more at home, but we also get to bask in the sun.

For many reading this, the prospect of taking a holiday away from England only to be greeted at the airport by a hire car representative hailing from Croydon and being served an authentic Mediterranean dish of steak and chips will not appeal. However, this side of Cyprus, that continues to attract millions of tourists year after year, is only one aspect of the island and is concentrated around the tourist hotspots of Paphos, Larnaca and Ayia Napa. Fortunately as you venture off the beaten track, your are soon reminded of the character that has made this island a popular destination for millennia.

If your fancy cooling off, and seeing something different take a trip up to the Troodos Mountains. In the heart of the mountains you will find the Kykkos monastery, a UNESCO world heritage site since 1998. Housing art and exhibits on ancient Greece, the monastery has the twin function of being a museum for visitors and a practising monastery lived in by worshiping monks. Kykkos even has its own winery where the monks bottle and sell their wine. A daytrip to the Troodos Mountains can be a welcome change from the beach and with overnight accommodation available in many of the authentic villages dotted about; you might want to spend a few days here sampling another side of Cyprus.

Creating Replicas of Nature Using Theories of Mathematics; Case Study A Tree

Filed under: Web Of Videos — admin @ 1:34 am

Can we create a replica of a tree which will fool the human mind into believing it is real by sight even a few inches away? Can we do this consistently with fake trees? If we fool the mind and the eyes which use memory frame bursting type techniques to fill in the blank, then can we use this to our advantage, by providing the simple anomalies that the brain is expecting upon closer scrutiny?

Most people like trees and even avoid their roots when walk in if they can, not because it is more convenient, as often it is not, but probably because of the empathy mechanism that sets in as no one wants someone stepping on their toes either. This is another advantage to fooling the human mind because generally people do not touch things until they become more familiar with them, as perhaps they do not wish to be touched by strangers?

Many fake trees look very similar to real trees, especially the ones you see in Banks and lobbies of buildings. To create the perfect decoy tree and make it pleasing to the human mind as is the desire of fake trees in corporate offices there needs to be small imperfections built in to them. If every branch is too uniform and ever leaf too perfect you will fail in your missing to fool the mind, please your guests or provide the pleasantness you intended in the first place you see?

Can we make a perfect (imperfect) tree and use it for surveillance purposes to protect entry ways, fence line and make US Border cactuses which are so convincing you would not even look at them twice. You could walk right by them and never even know it? Is that possible? Sure, I believe it can be done; we can make the perfect replica tree. I have some theories on a way to design such a decoy tree and would like to propose some thoughts on this.

I propose that we do this by using an anomaly program of a simple cellular automata and launch an interacting program on top of it and then let both programs run. You see to look life like you have to put in imperfections. But when those imperfections look like a pattern of such, you lose. You have to merge absolute randomness with simplicity moving toward complexity, but never achieving a balance on the side of complex pattern, which might include patterns of imperfection. Thus insuring individuality, yet similarity.

So, when we wish to mimic nature we must always remember that nature never appears to be perfect, but has interacting patterns of what maybe perfect or might have been at one time, until altered thru many renditions of changes thru interacting other patterns. I guess this would be considered like the butterfly effect where small changes along the way make everything appear so real. And this from a purely philosophical standpoint if we are going to fool the human mind we will need to think a little harder about what the mind is looking for and how it uses those clues to warn its intuition and set off warning bells in ones head, lighting up multiple brain waves which will start looking for additional answers where we were hoping it never would. Think on this in 2006.

Plenty of Manufacturers in the Gaming Laptops Arena

Filed under: Technometer — admin @ 6:09 pm

Not so long a go it looked like laptops for gaming were only obtainable from special resellers and they were usually custom built. Although they weren’t great sellers they did have high mark ups. They were the kind of notebook everyone craved but the one they just were unable to afford. They were basically desktop rivals and the quickest, best laptop computer you could get. Despite the buzz created I do not believe they were amazing sellers because I do not believe buyers would buy laptops in place of desktop computers as they were not really good value. The future for gaming laptops is now seen by the giant brands as a prime opportunity for them.

Lowering prices are not common is this market so larger brands should be earning tons of markup. With notebooks being classed like commodities this is an excellent profit source for them. Why would anybody buy laptops like this? I guess big companies have the marketing resources to educate them on that. Had I been a smaller retailer I would probably be thinking of ways to counteract this kind of competition. Now prospects will have much more options it makes it troublesome for the small retailers. People just feel much more confident making a giant purchase from a well known name. I reckon its some what laughable that because it comes with an established brand name they are carelessly though of as the best laptops. This is a prime opportunity the smaller resellers need to employ to their advantage. In my view being able to choose the parts you desire should be a deal maker. Purchasers of this sort are typically very in the know in regards to the technology involved, and hence can make like for like comparisons. For certain customers specs and benchmarks are more important than design.

From a purchasers standpoint this is all a good thing. Premium technology will be available to the majority when prices are pushed lower. Who is to envisage what will occur. I’m actually not that sure.Prices will possibly remain consistently high because there are constantly new things being introduced. Competition usually makes companies to do more and provide greater value so that sounds promising.
