From Depeche Mode to Mott the Hoople: People Buying Tickets Online

Filed under: Entertainment Tips — admin @ 3:13 am

Unless you’ve plenty of time, buying a concert or sports ticket before it sells out is not easy. For example, the entire 2,500,000 tickets were snapped up for the 2009 U2 tour of the States. So just how can a person who’s got a full time job get to buy a ticket if they’re selling out so quickly?

Not so long ago, the only way to buy a second-hand sports or concert ticket was through a dodgy ticket tout outside the premises of the event . This meant getting ripped off, or even possibly given fake tickets which would inevitably be spotted as you tried to enter the event - meaning you not only miss the music gig or sports event, you’ve wasted a bundle of cash in the process.

Nonetheless, matters have improved for sports and music loversThe secondary ticket market has improved remarkably in the last decade or so, with much thanks to the internetThanks to the internet, the secondary ticket marketplace has cleaned up its act in the last 10 years. These days there is a huge amount of competition to resell tickets on the internet, the marketplace has become self-regulating. The tickets you sell don’t have insurance? I’l purchase my ticket somewhere else! And so many vendors offer very cheap insurance if the music gig / sports event is called off. And with tough competition online, resale tickets have become cheaper to the stage that sometimes you’re not spending a lot more than the actual initial value of the ticket. Many ticket purchasers look at prices between dozens of traders selling secondary tickets for the same event / gig. They check the sale prices, insurance, seating, and even history of the seller before making a decision - so the force has considerably transferred away from the dodgy looking tout of days gone by to the ticket buyer.

These days you can purchase tickets for all sorts of sports events and concerts. From basketball games to soccer to cricket, to getting hold of decent seats for a world famous band; resale tickets offer up a 2nd chance to attend the gig you want to see. So what to expect online? Use a search engine like Google and enter in your keyphrase like Depeche Mode tickets, and you will see a large array of resale ticket agents who have the ticket you’re looking for.
