Any person with good creativity can make his own fire pit rather than buying a ready-made. You should have the image of the fire pit in your mind before starting it. To build your own fire pit, you just need some capital, woods and labor to work on it.

You can choose a safe place which is not flammable and should first check the rules to make it by the fire department. Dug a basin of a reasonable size, make small holes around and fix some bricks or hard stones around it, a little above the ground to ensure that the soil doesn’t mix with the fire. Decorate it with the stones of different colors or according to your imagination.

If you prefer building a gas fire pit, buy gas fire woods and a metal fire ring. After this you can again use your own imagination to come up with a unique fire pit in order to build your own fire pit.

For safety, you can always buy a scrap metal and cut it into the same size as your fire pit to cover it when not in use. This would avoid your children and pets accidentally crashing into the fire pit.
