Inside-Information Regarding Your Motor Vehicle Accident Insurance Claim

Filed under: Insurance Offers — admin @ 3:47 am

Here’s some “Inside-Info” you must know so you won’t be taken advantage of on your motor vehicle accident insurance claim and also: SO YOU CAN COLLECT EVERY DOLLAR THAT’S OWED TO YOU !

The following 8 are just “The Tip Of The Iceberg”:

#1. There are situations where you can collect for your “Lost Wages” even if you were paid by your employer and/or collected “Sick Leave” while unable to work.

#2. You can collect money and be reimbursed for any and all “Over The Counter” (non-prescription) medication you purchased during your recovery.

#3. Under normal circumstances unless a claim ends up in court (several years after impact has taken place and you are fully recovered) you do not have to agree to be examined by the insurance company’s doctor.

#4. There are many times that come to pass where you are entitled to collect the “Gross Amount” of your lost wages, not the so-called “Net After Taxes”.

#5. If you’re a housewife, you can often recover for “Lost Wages” (based on the “Value” of a maid or a domestic servant, who would execute the same work) which you could not perform due to the injury.

#6. You are entitled to extra compensation if you can prove you were forced to cancel a vacation and/or a special event.

#7. Under certain circumstances you may be able to make a claim (and collect for) a personal injury even if your state is “No-Fault” and you already have PIP (Personal Injury Protection) coverage.

#8. Your friends, and even relatives, have the right to execute statements which you can send to adjusters (and/or anybody you feel should get one) going into detail as to what happened to your body and what they’ve observed you’ve had to deal with (via your “Pain and Suffering”) during your period of recovery.

These statements can often provide you with an even greater dollar value - - when it comes to the calculation and then the ultimate settlement of your personal injury claim!

Retinol: One of the Best Over-the-counter Anti-wrinkle Ingredients

Filed under: Your Looks — admin @ 5:07 pm

Dermatologists praise Retinol as an excellent over-the counter anti-wrinkle ingredient. Retinol creams work to soften lines and fade age spots.

WHAT IS RETINOL?

Retinol is the technical name for Vitamin A. Research suggests that topical Vitamin A can help build collagen fibers and exfoliate the skin, thereby minimizing the appearance of fine lines.

There are several forms of Vitamin A found in the body. Retinol is one of them; other forms include retinyl palmitate, retinal and retinoic acid. Renova and Retin-A® are retinoic acid, also known as tretinoin.

WHY USE A RETINOL CREAM?

Regular use of a retinol cream increases cell turnover and exfoliation by stimulating cell production and new collagen production. As we age, this process normally slows down and layers of dead, sun damaged skin cells build up on the skin. This causes our skin to look dull and thick; pores look large and we see the visible effects of sun damage such as age spots, uneven skin tone and less elasticity.

Using a retinol cream will encourage the exfoliation of these dead skin cells so healthier cells can surface. Skin will appear softer and smoother and pores will appear smaller. Skin will look younger and healthier. With the stimulation of collagen production, skin cells will be plumper, more like they were in our youth.

The cell rejuvenation caused by vitamin A has also been shown to be helpful on acne patients because the exfoliation unclogs pores and helps fade acne scars.

When looking for a vitamin A or retinol creme product, look for one with a high enough level of retinol to be effective.

POPULAR RETINOL-CONTAINING PRODUCTS

Vitamin A or Retinol is the main ingredient found in the skin creams and lotions of several popular product lines including DDF, SkinScience, and M.D. Forte.

Turn Your Web Site into a Free Lead Generation Machine

Filed under: Traffic Management — admin @ 12:10 pm

Websites, needless to say, are here to say. Relatively affordable to operate and has a global reach, websites can help you expand your business operations. There are cases that in fact, websites, can be your main source for a new venture. It seems natural for businesses, no matter how big or small they are, to have websites to keep consumers informed and updated on the products and services that they have.

There is one big problem however. How come there are websites that actually help businesses to sell its products and services yet at the same time, there are those that remain unknown to consumers and drain the businesses’ money, instead of helping them earn additionally?

For many businesses that own websites, this is their question: How come their websites do not attract potential consumers and serve as additional source of revenue? Aren’t websites built precisely for that?

For many businesses with web sites, these online resources are built for a variety of reasons, among them:

• Get, as many as possible, prospects for its products;

• Help businesses create a short list of prospective consumers;

• Turning prospective online surfers to stop being just that - prospective surfers - and actually buy products and services from businesses; and

• Ultimately, turn these clients to purchase products and services from businesses on a continuing and long-term basis.

If, for example, your website actually is meeting all the said functions above, then great! Your website actually helps your income. But if it is not, then probably it is the best time to review or evaluate your website’s problems and reasons for not doing so.

Countless marketing websites offer various products and services that say they could help your website to be a top lead generation machine (that is, your website draws “leads” or sales from online consumers). Although, these websites may offer genuine and helpful information to you, most of these products and services are expensive and seem to provide general information on how to improve you website’s lead generation capabilities.

Actually, you can improve your website on your own. You are responsible for the success or failure of your website. With these tips below, you can start improving your website’s sales potential.

1. Is the nature of your business or company, including your products and services, immediately available to the website?

The website has to immediately and clearly state what your business or company is. Information on the products and services you sell should be immediately available. Otherwise, why would someone take his or her time to look at your site? It would be a waste of time if an online prospect is having a hard time looking for a product or service information. The longer he or she lingers around your website looking how much a product costs, the lesser the chances of buying that product.

You also have to state on your location. Are you based in just one state? In another country? What if for example, someone orders a product halfway around the world, is it possible? And how much the cost would be?

Are your links, both text and images, working? If someone clicks on a link, would that link go to the webpage that he or she is most likely looking for? Or is it not? Worse, you have linking errors?

2. What is the selling proposition of your business or your company? Is it clear in the website?

Prospects should know why choosing your business is the best choice compared with others. What are the reasons someone would buy your product or service compared with your competitor? Are these reasons reflected in the website? How do you substantiate your claims? If you got testimonies or experts praising your product or service, you have to show that they are credible endorsers? Explain in the website the necessary experience and knowledge of these people. Give your users their credentials. In that way, they know that they can trust with your company, and possibly, purchase your goods.

If there are any, show the awards or certifications received by your business or company from consumer or industry associations.

3. Does the website offer additional information or resources if a customer buys something from your company or business?

These are added come-ons for customers. Services like technical or administrative customer support in the website, if available, should be clearly stated in the website. This will give an assurance to customers that if something goes wrong with a product or service they purchased, they could easily contact you via the website.

Make them an offer they can’t refuse
If you want your prospects to respond, you have to give them a convincing reason to do so. Keep the phrase “what’s in it for me?” in mind as you’re writing your ad’s call to action. It’s what your prospects are thinking as they decide whether or not they will take the time or effort to respond. It will have a noticeable effect on B2B sales leads generation.
Consider offering application notes showing how other buyers solved their problems using your product or service.

Offering a useful premium or advertising specialty can also significantly increase the number of responses. However, try to make sure your offer is of interest only to qualified prospects. For example, a tool for sizing rings would be an attractive offer only to people who use rings. However, everyone might want a free pocket screwdriver set and inquire only to get it, not because they have a need for your product or service.

Many of your prospects may want to try your product before they buy it. If you can cost-effectively offer samples or a demonstration CD, you will generate more inquiries as part of your B2B sales leads generation program.

4. Offer consumers features and add-ons that would entice them to buy

Convince your prospects that they need to buy your product or service. Tell them that they need or want this product or service. Explain how other users benefited from it. In that way, they become convinced the capability of your product or service and hopefully buy it. Consider offering application notes showing how other buyers solved their problems using your product or service.

5. Is ordering in the website hassle-free?

Try to make ordering in your website as hassle- and worry-free as possible. Surfing should be as smooth as possible. No complicated ordering forms as well as processes. Is payment information stored for future buyers?

6. Is your company or business accessible enough for consumers?

Contact information of your company or business should be in the website. And this does not mean just electronic mail. Telephone numbers, feedback forms, among others, should be easily available on the site.

7. Good writing is the key.

Of course, any good website means good writing. Write clear and simple. Focus on your market’s needs and wants. Try to get to them that going to your website is not a worthless thing to do.

These tips, when used, can help your website into a more active sales generator for you.

The Wage-Productivity Gap

Filed under: Activists — admin @ 1:38 pm

The most damaging factor to our economy today is the Wage-Productivity gap. This refers to the increase in the hourly output of workers vs. the increase in hourly pay. This concept is described quite well in Chapter 6 of economist Ravi Batra’s book, “Greenspan’s Fraud.”

During times of true economic prosperity, wages have kept pace with productivity increases. Workers have shared in the benefits of their increased productivity. The result is that wages remained sufficient to purchase our nation’s industrial output. Borrowing, or debt-financed consumer spending, was unnecessary to maintain sufficient consumer spending to purchase our production. More production can be purchased because more wages are paid. Demand, created by wages, matches supply, which is created by productivity. This creates a balance that makes massive borrowing unnecessary. And such balance maximizes economic “growth.”

This balance has not been maintained, however, during recent years. It has worsened greatly under the Bush administration. Productivity has increased significantly during the Bush years. In contrast, wages have actually decreased. This trend started before Bush took office, but I’ll confine the time frame to December 2001 through March of 2005. These are years for which records are readily available from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Below is a graph from the New York Times showing how productivity is outpacing wages

http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2005/07/02/business/03cov1.graphic.gif

Starting in January of 2003, productivity (or output per hour) has increased 11.2% thru the 1st quarter of 2005. In contrast, hourly wages have declined 2.3% over the same time period, from an inflation-adjusted $8.32/hour in January, 2003, to $8.13/hour in June, 2005. Production has exceeded the ability of wage earners to purchase the production by 13.5%. This gap has been filled by consumer borrowing. The amount borrowed must steadily increase, in order to keep pace with our increasing industrial production. If it did not, our economy would sink into recession. However, maintaining demand through borrowing is not a sustainable path.

Statistics on Hourly Wages can be found at:
http://data.bls.gov/PDQ/servlet/SurveyOutputServlet?data_tool=latest_numbers&series_id=CES0500000049

Statistics on U.S. Productivity can be found at:

Sometimes the effect of the wage-productivity gap can be seen better from a distance. An example of the effect of the wage-productivity gap can be seen with Japan’s economy. Again, this was described by economist Ravi Batra in Chapter 6 of his book, “Greenspan’s Fraud.” Dr. Batra makes a very compelling case that Japan’s economic problems resulted from the increasing gap between Japanese wages and productivity. I will paraphrase his explanation here.

Japan experienced extremely rapid growth between 1960 and 1975. During that time there was a 168% increase in per capita GDP. Their per capita GDP increased from $2,139 in 1960 to $5,750 in 1975. Real wages increased 217% during that time. Manufacturing productivity increased 264% during these 15 years. Japan prospered and its economy grew during this period because wages, which create demand, kept up with productivity, which creates supply. There was sufficient WAGE-FINANCED demand to stimulate production. And the necessary demand was maintained by consumer income, not consumer borrowing.

After 1975, productivity growth began to outpace wage growth. The result was a much slower growth in GDP. Between 1975 and 1990, productivity increased 3% more than wages per year. During that period, wages increased 27%, while productivity increased 86%. The per capita GDP increase was 64% from 1975 to 1990. Less of the wealth produced by Japanese workers was being shared with them. As a result, business profits soared, increasing money available for investment. This caused Japanese investors to over-invest in both the stock market and housing. Japanese stock markets and real estate values soared as a result of this over-investment. Meanwhile, there was insufficient wage-financed demand to keep up with this capital investment. This necessitated increased levels of borrowing to maintain the demand that wages could not maintain.

By 1990 there was a huge Japanese stock market bubble and real estate bubble. And in 1990 this overvaluation all came crashing down. The Japanese economy has still not recovered 15 years later. By 2003, the Japanese stock market was still 80% below its peak in 1990. From 1990 thru 2002, per capita GDP increased 13%. Compare that with the 168% increase between 1960 and 1975. Compare this latter 15-year increase with the 59% increase during the 27 years from 1975 to 2002. Japan’s per capita GDP increased 3 times as much during the 15 years prior to 1975, than it did during the 27 years after 1975. The pre-1975 rate of increase was 5 times faster than the post-1975 increase.

What caused this slowdown? The rise in the wage-productivity gap. Worker income that could have been put to good use buying Japanese goods was siphoned off as corporate profits. Since the benefits of investment capital are limited by consumer demand, the result was over-investment of Japanese stock and housing markets, and maintenance of consumer demand by borrowing.

Does this situation describe any other economy you can think of?

A Comparison Of the Next Generation Gaming Consoles (Part 1)

Filed under: Hall Of Games — admin @ 2:13 pm

It’s been about 5 years since we have seen a new video game console. By spring of next year all three major companies will have released their new systems. At this point, both Sony and Microsoft have released the full specs of their systems, while information on the nintendo revolution continues to be secretive. This article will take a look at all three systems and give a basic comparison of what we know. However, until the systems are actually released, we can only speculate on design and performance.

Design and Appearance.

All three companies have taken pretty much the same approach with their systems. All are small compact units with sleek exteriors. Microsoft has also added interchangeable faceplates which owners can change to match their needs. The Sony Playstation is expected to come in a rainbow of colors allowing gamers to choose a unit that fits their décor. And the Revolution is expected to be the smallest, being the size of 3 DVD covers.

Under the hood

Looks are nice, but what really counts is how the system will perform. Of course until the systems are actually released we can still only speculate on overall performance. Especially since the boys at Nintendo are keeping most details to themselves for the time being. First of all lets have a look at each console individually.

Sony Playstation 3

Sony confirmed the PlayStation 3 will use Blu-ray discs as its media format. The discs can hold up to six times as much data as current-generation DVDs. This will essentially open the doors for game developers to produce higher quality games without having to worry about disk size limitations.
Sony also unveiled the PS3’s graphics chip, the RSX “Reality Synthesizer,” which is based on Nvidia technology. The GPU will be capable of 128bit pixel precision and 1080p resolution, (some of the highest HD resolution available anywhere). The RSX also has 512MB of graphics render memory and is capable of 100 billion shader operations and 51 billion dot products per second. The new Playstation 3 graphics chip also has more than 300 million transistors, larger than any processor commercially available today.

Microsoft Xbox

The look of the new console is fine and dandy, but what is under all that cool looking plastic? Microsoft has developed an impressive system capable of amazing processing power never seen before in a home video game console. As well as new IBM PowerPC-based CPU running at 3.2GHz, and over a half a gigabyte of RAM, the Xbox 360 will showcase a new ATI video card capable of advanced antialiasing and shader effects. What this means to gamers is 720p and 1080i wide-screen HDTV, almost double the resolution of the original Xbox which maxed out at 480p The system will also support up to four wireless controls.

The The Nintendo Revolution is a great resource for import games as well as domestic titles. our check out this great website promotion service

that they have split or the edges have curled and are rubbing on the covers.

* Many people risk being hurt every year because their treadmill will suddenly jump
from 2 or 3 mph to 8 or 9 mph, or sometimes just stop, all because of dirty speed sensors.

The Psychology of Texas Hold’em Poker

Filed under: Gambling Capers — admin @ 10:16 am

Many people think texas hold’em odds and mathematical probabilities define how best to play a hand in texas hold’em poker. It is true that they play a part in deciding how to play a hand, but a much more important factor in texas hold’em poker is the psychology of the game.

The psychology of texas hold’em poker is another way of saying the way people play is largely determined by the way that they feel. Because of this by knowing how a person is acting you can assume some things about what they are thinking and vice versa.

The more you understand about this aspect of texas hold’em poker the better you will do at reading your opponents and making the right calls in given situations. We all have seen someone lose a big hand and come out firing big the very next hand. This is usually an example of the player losing control of his emotions, being angry, and so betting in a “throw caution to the wind” manner. This a less subtle example of how understanding the player’s reasons for making the plays he makes in given situations. Knowing the player is making a large bet out of anger, and not based on his starting hand, means if you have a good starting hand strength you can go ahead and move in to complete his misery.

There are so many different variations of the circumstances and interpretations that it is hard to lay down a strict code of conduct when interpreting human behavior. Also teaching someone to watch for specific actions would not be very effective either. One of the best ways to start to understand behavior in texas hold’em poker is watching how people play and put yourself in their shoes. When they make a play ask yourself what kind of hole cards would I have if I made that play. Over time you can get a pretty good idea of what actions people will take in given situations with certain hole cards.

What I want to focus on is after you have an understanding of why certain plays are made in given situations, with certain hole cards then you can move beyond that to how the emotional characteristics of a person determine how certain individuals will act in certain situations, given certain hole cards. This may seem repetitious, but the point is that different people act differently in the same situations. So one person may have a tendency to want to play aggressively with high hand strength pocket pairs; where another person with the same type of starting hand strength would rather make sure there are no aces on the flop before betting on their high pocket pair. After watching people play for enough poker hands you can get an idea of how they like to play certain starting hands.

The key is to watch very closely to each person as they make their play. If your playing online poker it is still the same just the things you watch for are different. Like in a live texas hold’em poker tournament you can physically watch your opponent to see if he looks calm or nervous, but you may think in an online texas hold’em poker tournament you can’t pick up on tells and can’t give tells yourself. This couldn’t be farther from the truth.

The truth is that tells exist in the online poker world just as they exist in the live, or bricks and mortar, poker world. In fact the argument could be made that picking up and capitalizing on tells in online poker is easier than in live poker because of some of the built in tracking an note taking options available to the online poker player.

The key to picking up tells in online poker is knowing what your looking for. Understand what differences there can be in actions. Like the amount of time the player takes before making a call, the normal amount of time this player takes before taking prior actions, the amount bet or called by the player in relationship to his own stack and the pot, and many other factors like that. If a player make a very fast call after a low flop on the board and the turn card is also low and he takes a bit of time before making the call he may be on a draw and be showing some reluctance in calling after missing his draw on the flop and turn. Again though this is a general observation so this type of play can be made to try to slow play a poker hand of dominate hand strength.

If all of this seems a bit to convoluted and too hard to understand or pin down look at it this way. What reasons would there be for making the play that your opponent made given the current situation. Often times you will find there are two types of starting hands that could be on different draws and yet still make the same type of play. For example with the starting hand of a middle pocket pair and with the starting hand of high suited connectors. Two very different starting hands, but with a low flop they both may try to make a relatively large bet to represent a dominate hand strength when in fact there hand strength is mediocre at best in the case of the middle pocket pair, and in the case of the high connectors many starting hands would be ahead in the hand against this starting hand.

The main thing to understand with the aspect of psychology in texas hold’em poker is that it is not an all or nothing concept. Which is to say you don’t have to fully understand this poker strategy to use it to some degree, and as I always say something is better than nothing. Having some understanding of how the players mind set will determine what plays they make will help your texas hold’em poker game tremendously. After all that is what it is all about. Knowing the right call really comes down to knowing if your pocket cards are ahead in the hand or not, and even what your opponents may have for there pocket cards. The more you understand the psychological aspects the better you will be at making an educated guess at what your opponents pocket cards are likely to be, or what is current hand strength is.

Making it to the final table in texas hold’em poker tournaments takes the understanding of what motivations your opponent is acting on; weather it be the starting hand strength of their pocket cards, or that they think that by playing aggressively the rest of the table will fold to them. Often times a player simply betting aggressively to steal the blinds when called will often try betting aggressively again to continue the bluff hoping they can still take the pot down.

In texas hold’em poker tournaments making the wrong call when the chips are down means you are shown the door, but making the right call and are that much closer to the final. The more you know about your opponents motivations for making the play can give you an advantage that, given the right starting hand strength, or pocket cards with the right flop, you can know how to correctly proceed to extract the most money out of the poker hand.

The Almighty Beer-Can Chicken

Filed under: Eating Fun — admin @ 9:22 am

A popular method of cooking chicken in recent years both in
Barbeque contest as well as backyard barbeques is the beer-can
chicken. Cooking a beer-can chicken couldn’t be any easier but
the results are worthwhile. This is a technique that delivers a
moist, succulent chicken and flavorful chicken. It’s also a bit
of a showstopper and makes a lively conversation starter as
well. Is it chicken in a beer can? Close but try beer can in a
chicken. The beer is used to both keep the bird flavorful and
moist, and the cook happy. By the time the bird is ready to eat,
the chef will not be the only one with a beer belly!

Is it safe to eat chicken that has been in contact with the ink
from a beer can? When the FDA was asked this question they were
not sure because they have only tested the cans as a container
and not as a cooking utensil. However the ink on the cans is
applied at a temperature in excess of 500 degrees while the can
never get hotter then 215 degrees during the cooking process.
The conclusion by most is that there is nothing harmful in using
the cans.

For those cooks who still worry about possible contamination,
vertical stainless steel chicken roasters are available. These
roasters have their own reservoir for beer, water or your choice
of liquid.

1 whole chicken

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 tablespoons salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

3 tablespoons of your favorite dry spice rub

1 can beer

Preparing the chicken

Remove and discard neck and giblets from chicken. Rinse chicken
inside and out, and pat dry with paper towels. Rub or brush the
chicken lightly with oil then season inside and out with salt,
pepper and dry rub.

Open a can of beer and drink half. Wait 5 minutes then drink the
other half and open a second can for the chicken. Drink half of
the second beer and reserve remainder of beer for the bird.
Using a “church key”-style can opener, pop a few more holes in
the top of the can so that the moisture will be able to escape.

With the can on a steady surface, lower the chicken onto the
can. It should stand on it’s own using the legs and can as a
tri-pod. Refrigerate the bird while you get your grill or smoker
setup.

Preparing the grill

Whether you intend to grill or smoke the bird, the goal is
indirect heat. No coals or burner directly under the chicken.
Place a drip pan under where you intend the bird to sit. If you
are grilling, turn the burners to medium-high on one side of
your grill and place the bird on the other side.

Cooking the chicken

Continue to cook the chicken over medium-high with the grill
cover on for approximately 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours. The chicken will
be done when the internal temperature registers 165 degrees F in
the breast area and 180 degrees F in the thigh. Remove from
grill with tongs and move to cutting board. Be careful not to
spill the beer when removing the can. Let the chicken rest for
5-10 minutes before carving. Toss the beer can out along with
the carcass.

Top Motocross Psychology Tips for Entering the Zone

On the start line, you were so confident that day, you believed no one could race with you. On the track, racing felt effortless and smooth. You were in the flow on every jump, bump, and turn. Your rhythm was perfect in the whoops. Every section of the track was executed just as you saw in your mind. Your mind was so immersed into racing each section–one at a time–that you were oblivious to other racers. Today you were not checking to see who was behind you. Your motorcycle responded with ease to every thoughtit felt like an extension of you. The feeling of being in complete control of yourself and your emotions was awesome. It was so fun to race the track just as you have envisioned in your mind. Only after the moto did you realize that you raced the moto of your life and found an elusive state of peak performance called “the zone”.

Nothing is more exciting for athletes than performing in the zone. The zone is a peak performance state in which the mental, physical, and strategic parts of racing come together at once. When racing in the zone and going fast with ease, motocross is fun, immensely satisfying, and feels second nature. To get into a zone state, you must be focused on the task, very self-confident, race with trust and composure, and be decisive with your race plan. In this article, I will discuss the mindset of racers when in the peak performance zone.

“You can have a good bike and have all
the talent in the world, but if you don’t
believe in yourself and know that you can
win, you will have a hard time at the races.”
–Ricky Carmichael

Confidence is the first mental tool to entering the zone. You cannot race your best without a high level of self-confidence. You know the confident typethe James Stewarts of the Motocross world who have a total conviction and belief in their ability. Most racer’s confidence comes from success and winning, but how will you get onto the podium if you do not first believe you can win? Too many racers doubt their ability to race up front right at the wrong time. I teach racers to take responsibility for their confidence by fueling their confidence and teaching them how to battle those malicious doubts that pop into a racer’s mind at the wrong time.

“I try to visualize the entire race beforehand. As the actual races gets closer at hand, I start to focus more specifically on the start.”
–Rick Johnson

The second mental tool to getting into the zone is your ability focus the mind in the present moment, the so-called here and now. Most racers can concentrate, but may not focus on the right areas. Racing the track one section at a time and not getting ahead of yourself is the foundation of a zone focus. You can’t make yourself get in the zone, but you can train your mind to focus on the right areas so you are dialed in when the gate drops. In addition, coping with distractions are part of racing. The racer who learns how to ignore the distractions and focus on the task will beat most racers who get distracted.

The third mental tool to entering the zone is a racer’s ability to get into a “flow” on race day. Ricky Carmichael has a great work ethic and trains hard, but to win he must be able to rely on his training and get into a rhythm on race day. Some racers ruin their rhythm by trying too hard or forcing it on race day. The ability to perform effortlessly and trust your instincts is the foundation for getting into a zone state. My motocross students call this feeling as being “in the flow,” “in a rhythm,” “just reacting,” or “automatic.” You must be able to trust your practice and ability on race day do you can “just do it” and react to the track.

“Don’t try to blast your way around the track. Find a nice pace and stay with it. Relax. When you are nervous, your arms tend to pump up.”
-Jeremy McGrath

In pressure situations or in national events, the tendency is to tighten up, try too hard, and not trust you ability. Focusing too much on clutch release or body position for example upsets the natural rhythm and flow of riding because you are consciously forcing it and not letting it happen. This bogs down timing and throws off your natural rhythm. The purpose of practice is to make it feel reflexive when you perform on the track. When you race, let your instincts, built on a ton of practice, take over.

The fourth mental tool is composure. When performing in the zone, racers feel very much in control of themselves and thus their performance. Sports require a balanced emotional level. The key is to be excited to race but not over excited, intense but not too intense, ready to race, but not overanxious to race, and feel challenged but not anxious. Feeling pumped and excited can help you race better, but fear and anxiety ruin your mindset. I help my students find the balance between feeling excited and being over excited.

“Only race because you love it. Race because you can express yourself. Race because it’s the most fun thing you can do!”
–Rick Johnson

Lastly, you have to have fun with your racing to get into the zone. How could racing not be fun you ask? One way is if you put too much pressure on yourself to win or get on the podium. Another way is if you feel expectations from others such as your parents or manufacturers to win. These can cause fear, trying too hard, doubt, and tension, all mental breakdowns that will prevent you from entering the zone. Approach each moto like a fun game because you love the feeling of hitting that jump just right or hauling around a corner and you will be more likely to find your flow on race day.
